Winter fishing is excellent. These two gentlemen reported landing at least 30 fish, like this,on about any size 18-20 Midge or Baetas pattern. The best November fishing I can remember. Perfect water and cooperative fish. Lots of days available in December. Fish are still rising to foam ants.
Fishing is very strong on small nymphs.Size 18 and 20. Your guide will have the proper fly. While I can not guarantee your results we have had several anglers in the last week land over 40 fish each. Many of the fish were over 5 lbs.
An angler named Mitch fishing at Boxwood today didn’t stop for lunch. Too many big fish.Mitch reported landing 50+ fish, all on small nymphs.Mitch will be at Long Meadow tomorrow. I feel sorry for the fish.
Nothing but big fish and plenty of them. Fishing extremely excellent on small nymphs; Buckskins,RS2, Copper Johns, Green Pheasant Tails.
Fishing is excellent on terrestials. Black ants etc. continue to take fish on the surface. Try RS2 and Breadcrusts on the bottom. The really huge fish are very active now and many anglers are landing the biggest trout of their life at both Boxwood and Long Meadow.
Lots of big fish being landed on Turks, Copper Johns, Bar Emerger, Breadcrust,PMD,and Sparkle RS2. We are having a spectacular fall. Book a day in November or December for some great nymph fishing. You don’t have to go to New Zealand or Alaska to catch a 7lb. Trout.
Fishing continues to be excellent on both dry and nymph patterns. Your guide will have the correct fly.Big fish are being caught on both sections with the largest being a measured 27.5 inch monster Bow at Boxwood.
Yesterday I spoke with 2 anglers at our Long Meadow section who both experienced an absolutely great day of fishing. They reported catching about 50 fish each on #12 Parachute Adams. Were they in Alaska, or Montana? No, they were at Boxwood Gulch, only 60 minutes from their home in Denver.
Just returned from chatting with Mr. Tom Hayward who fished Long Meadow section from 1:30pm until 5:30pm and reports landing at least 50 fish, all with a #12 Green Drake.
