Boxwood Gulch Fishing Report for Fri, 30 Jun 2006

Big water and big fish were all abundant in June. We caught plenty of both. Although the water was high at 500-750 cfs it was clear, mostly gin clear. It was 75% Tunnel water routed over to us via Roberts Tunnel from Dillon Reservoir.

We had days of 40 fish per angler and slower days of 10-15 per angler but the fish were absolutely huge. Lots of 5-8 lb. and larger fish were landed on every trip. One angler told me, at lunch, that his first 7 fish were all over 5 lbs.

If your goal is big fish and challenging water, maybe a tune up for Alaska, then book your trip now for next June. Our experienced guides at Boxwood or Long Meadow will teach you their tricks for Big Fish in Big Water.
