Undeserved good fortune has enabled me to wander far and wide in search of fly fishing adventures. My passion for steel heading has led me from the Great Northwest and British Columbia to Alaska and Eastern Russia in pursuit of these spectacular fish. I have hunted tarpon, permit, and bonefish in the Florida Keys and striped bass, blue fish and false albacore in the waters off the northeast coast. I have chased after Pacific and Atlantic salmon in their home environs and traveled to all sorts of places to fly fish for bass, Northern pike, tiger muskie, crappie, blue gill and even carp.
The pursuit of my first love, fly fishing for trout, has taken me from coast to coast and across Canada. But some of the best fly fishing for trout that I have ever experienced is within 40 minutes of my home in Castle Rock, Colorado. The North Fork of the South Platte in the Boxwood Gulch Ranch property is second to none for quality trout fishing. There are rainbows, browns, brook, and cutthroat of remarkable size and number not found elsewhere in the Rocky Mountain states.
Boxwood Gulch is a superb fishery for both novice and expert where a fly fisher can learn to fly fish, improve fly fishing skills, or challenge acquired expertise.
With Barry Conyers, master fly tier and Riverkeeper guiding the way, fly fishing at Boxwood Gulch is always rewarding. Dry fly fishing, drifting nymphs, swimming streamers, or skating the deadly mouse pattern, Boxwood Gulch provides an unmatched fly fishing experience with the opportunity to catch the trophy fish of a lifetime.
