August and September offered terrific fishing at Boxwood Gulch and Long Meadow Ranch! Anglers enjoyed clear water and average flows around 300 cfs. Sight fishing with various nymphs such as eggs, small soft hackle patterns, green copper johns, hare’s ears, sowbugs, and pheasant tails has been the most effective technique.

On some days, anglers have been able to use yellow sally dry patterns as fish have been “looking up.” Double digit days have been the norm, and landing fish up to and over 20″ has been common. Some anglers in Aug/Sept have even landed 6 species in one day: Rainbow, Cutbow, Brook, Tiger, Cutthroat, and Brown Trout!
