December/January Fishing Report

Anglers have been enjoying fishable flows this winter on the North Fork South Platte! The fish have moved into their cold water wintering runs in the deep pools and tailouts near submerged structures. Most fish are fooled on nymph rigs, with egg-midge combos being the primary go to. Mysis, leech patterns, small euro-nymphs and a variety of midge patterns have all worked well. Occasionally the fish are chasing streamers as well. The heated clubhouse, steps from the stream, is especially nice for gearing up, eating lunch, and taking a break.
