June 2024 Fishing Report

Since opening in late May, stream flows have fluctuated between 250 and 500 cfs at the peak of runoff. Unlike other destinations that are unfishable during runoff, the structure and holding water at Boxwood and Long Meadow fish great through the high water. The off color water provides guides and guests the chance to fish larger nymph patterns such as leeches, worms, large stoneflies, eggs, and a variety of flashy euro-style patterns. Streamers, stripped slow along the edges, have also worked really well on most days lately. Anglers have been landing rainbows, browns, brook, and palomino trout. The largest trout landed this season was a beefy 28″ rainbow at Boxwood.
