Perfect winter fishing is available only 60 minutes from Denver.The entire river is ice free and flowing at 110cfs. The folks who have fished during the last 2 weeks have all caught an average of 20 fish each and every group has landed several fish over 24inches.
Fishing is excellent. The last several anglers all landed at least 30 fish each with many fish over 20 inches. #16 Black Pheasant Tails fished with an egg or San Juan attractor is the ticket. Ice free water and a flow of about 100-110cfs is perfect for winter fishing.

Let the fishing fun begin! We have open water everywhere. All the major holes are open. The River is 98% ice free. We are back to a tailwater fishery. Flow at about 80cfs+ and will increase a little every day to about 130cfs+. Thank you DENVER WATER BOARD.
